Having trouble with light on these different surfaces.

Is this one better?

Hi Tina,
The right-hand image is the better overall, as it is in sharp focus whilst the left-hand photograph is slightly off. Generally in still-life work focus is crucial, unless one is seeking an overall "gauze" atmosphere or a particular sense of depth is the object. The left image's overall color seems more accurate however: the very light wood of the basket's edge is rendered much more accurately than the other version's, which has an overall blue cast (common with indirect, "Open Shade" lighting conditions).

Both are nice offerings and pleasing to the eye. ~ James
